Children's Library Volunteer Recruitment Sakura City Children's Library is looking for new volunteers for our summer reading program. We need warm, energetic adults who love books and enjoy spending time with children aged 6 to 12. What You Will Do Volunteers will read picture books aloud to small groups (4-6 children) twice a week. You may also help with simple craft activities after the reading time. No special teaching experience is required, but you must be comfortable speaking in front of children. Schedule The program runs from July 20 to August 30. Each volunteer is asked to come for at least three sessions, but more is welcome. Sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Who Can Apply Anyone over 18 years old can apply. High school students aged 16 and 17 may join if they bring a written note from a parent. We especially welcome volunteers who can speak both Japanese and another language (English, Chinese, or Korean) to help our international families. What You Get Volunteers will not be paid in cash, but each volunteer receives a free library card valid for one year, a thank-you certificate at the end of the program, and free entry to our annual book sale in September. We also provide tea and snacks during sessions. How to Apply Send your name, age, contact phone number, and a short message (about 100 words) telling us why you want to join. The deadline is July 5. Email everything to volunteer@sakuralib.example.jp. We will reply to all applicants within one week.
