環境問題やテクノロジーに関する3級レベルの語彙を学びます。身近な時事テーマを英語で語る基礎力を身につけ、読解や英作文の幅を広げられます。
コア意味と使い方
environment は「環境」で、the environment と the を付けて「地球環境」を指します。
pollution は「汚染」で数えられない名詞なので a や複数形にしません。
internet も the internet と the を付けるのが原則です。
technology は「技術」、recycle は「再利用する」で、re-（再び）＋cycle（めぐる）という語の作りです。
使い方 —環境を語る型
「環境を守る」は protect the environment、「〜に良い/悪い」は be good / bad for the environment。
3R は reduce（減らす）・reuse（再利用する）・recycle（再生する）です。
読解ではこの型がそのまま設問の言い換えに使われます。
つまずきやすい所
○ We must protect the environment.
✗ We must protect environment.
地球環境を指すときは the を付ける。
○ There is a lot of pollution in the city.
✗ There are many pollutions in the city.
pollution は不可算名詞。複数形にしない。
○ I searched on the internet.
✗ I searched in internet.
internet は on the internet の形。
冠詞（the）と可算・不可算が狙われるテーマです。protect the environment を型として丸ごと覚えましょう。
