a・an・theの基本的な使い分けを、母音の前の使い方や「特定/不特定」の考え方を軸に学びます。4級でつまずきやすい冠詞のルールを整理し、正しく使えるようになります。
ルール —a/an は音、the は特定
a は子音の音で始まる語、an は母音の音（a, e, i, o, u の発音）で始まる語の前に置きます。
綴りではなく音で決まるので、an hour（h は無音）、a university（ユの音）のような例外に注意します。
the は「話し手と聞き手が同じものを特定できる」ときに使います。
使い方 —2回目からは the
初めて出す名詞は a / an、2回目以降は the を使います（I bought a book. The book was interesting.）。
楽器には the（play the piano）、スポーツには無冠詞（play tennis）という決まりも覚えます。
つまずきやすい所
○ an hour
✗ a hour
h が無音で母音の音から始まる。
○ a university
✗ an university
発音が「ユ」なので子音扱い。
○ play tennis
✗ play the tennis
スポーツは無冠詞。
音で a/an、特定で the。例外（an hour / a university）は音で判断します。
