4級レベルの家や家具に関する語彙を学びます。部屋・家具・家庭用品を表す身近な単語を、自分の家を説明する英語で使えるようになります。
コア意味と使い方
位置は in（部屋の中）、on（上に接して）、at（地点）を使い分けます。
in the kitchen（台所で）、on the sofa（ソファの上に）、on the wall（壁に）。
painting は「絵画」で hang a painting on the wall、closet は「クローゼット」、window は open / close the window です。
使い方 —部屋の描写の型
There is / There are 〜 で「〜がある」を表します。
単数なら is、複数なら are。
「壁に絵が掛かっている」は There is a painting on the wall. のように、位置の前置詞句を後ろに置きます。
つまずきやすい所
○ There are two paintings.
✗ There is two paintings.
後ろが複数なら are。
○ a painting on the wall
✗ a painting in the wall
壁は接触面なので on。
○ I sat on the sofa.
✗ I sat in the sofa.
ソファの上に座るので on。
前置詞と There is/are の一致。部屋の描写はこの2点で解けます。
