direction の複数形ルール (3級頻出ひっかけ)
"ask for directions"=道を尋ねる (複数形)
"in the direction of"=〜の方向に (単数形)
道順を尋ねる時は通常 directions と複数で言う (一連の指示として)。
direct の3つの意味
①動詞: 案内する ("direct me to the bank")
②形容詞: 直接の ("a direct flight")
③形容詞: 率直な ("a direct answer")。

現代では "get directions" (アプリで道順を取得) も日常表現に。a sense of direction = 方向感覚 ("I have no sense of direction." = 方向音痴)。
