過去
「過去」を表す名詞。the past = 定冠詞付き。形容詞 (過去の) でも使う。
In the past, people did not have phones.
過去、人々は電話を持っていなかった。
She talked about her past experiences.

過去に生きるな (= 前を向け)。

past の多品詞使用
①名詞: the past (the present, the future と並んで時間区分)。
②形容詞: past tense, past life, past few years。
③前置詞: half past two = 2時半 (英国), walk past the school = 学校を通り過ぎる。
④副詞: rushed past = 通り過ぎていった。
過去形 vs 過去分詞
多くの動詞で違うので注意 (go-went-gone, eat-ate-eaten)。慣用句
a blast from the past = 懐かしい思い出/もの, water under the bridge = 過ぎ去ったこと。
