「peregrination」
正解peregrination は per-（〜を通って）＋ ager/agri（土地、agriculture と同根）に由来し、「土地から土地へと渡り歩くこと」が核。単なる travel より「長期にわたる遍歴」「ややあてどない巡遊」という含意を帯びる。現代では半ば古風・諧謔的に用いられ、フォーマルな随筆や文学的回想で「気取った旅」を示唆するレジスター。複数形 peregrinations で「あちこちの旅行」とまとめて言うことも多い。
「odyssey」
