比較級・最上級の基本から、倍数表現やas...as、the+比較級などの応用パターンまで学びます。準2級レベルで差がつく比較構文を整理し、より複雑な文を正確に作れるようになります。
ルール —最上級 ⇄ 比較級の書き換え
Mt. Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan. は、No other mountain in Japan is higher than Mt. Fuji. / Mt. Fuji is higher than any other mountain in Japan. と書き換えられます。
any other の後ろは単数、no other も単数です。
使い方 —比較級を強める語と not as ... as
比較級を強めるのは much / far / a lot（very は使えません）。
not as ... as は「〜ほど…でない」で、劣勢比較（less ... than）と同じ意味になります。
程度を表す構文（too ... to / so ... that / enough to）も比較の周辺で問われます。
つまずきやすい所
○ higher than any other mountain
✗ higher than any other mountains
any other の後ろは単数。
○ much / far higher than
✗ very higher than
比較級を強めるのは much / far / a lot（very は不可）。
○ … the better you get.
✗ The more you practice, the good you get.
the 比較級, the 比較級 の形なので両方比較級。
最上級との書き換え3パターンと、any other / no other の後ろは単数。any other / no other の後ろは必ず単数形です。
