mammal / predator / wildlife / habitat / extinct / carnivore。生態を語る語です。分類の語（哺乳類・肉食動物）と、可算・不可算の区別を押さえます。
コア意味と語形
mammal（哺乳類）/ carnivore（肉食動物）↔ herbivore（草食動物）/ omnivore（雑食）は分類の語で、いずれも数えられます。
wildlife（野生生物）は集合名詞で数えません。
extinct は形容詞（名詞は extinction）、become extinct / be extinct の形で使います。
使い方 —絶滅の段階を語で言い分ける
危機の度合いは endangered（絶滅危惧）→ on the verge of extinction（絶滅寸前）→ extinct（絶滅した）と段階で表します。
「絶滅する」は become extinct（× extinct する）。
