句動詞

動詞 ＋ 副詞・前置詞で1つの意味になる表現です。代名詞は必ず動詞と副詞の間（look it up）に入ります。
ルール —意味はまとまりで覚え、目的語の位置に注意
look up（調べる）/ give up（やめる・あきらめる）/ take off（脱ぐ・離陸する）/ put off（延期する）/ get along with（うまくやる）。
副詞型の句動詞は目的語を間に置けますが、代名詞は必ず間に置きます（look it up、× look up it）。
使い方 —1つの句動詞が2つの意味を持つ
take off は Please take off your shoes.（脱ぐ）と The plane took off on time.（離陸する）の両方。
give up は give up smoking（習慣をやめる）と Don't give up.（あきらめる）。文脈で判断します。
give up の後ろは -ing（× give up to smoke）。
つまずきやすい所

代名詞は動詞と副詞の間に置く。

✗ He gave up to smoke.
give up の後ろは -ing。
○ … get along with your coworkers?
✗ Do you get along your coworkers?
人が続くなら with が必要。
句動詞は意味をまとまりで覚え、代名詞の位置と後ろの形（-ing）を押さえます。
