ニュアンスが全く違う！fitting room (試着室)
米国: fitting room, dressing room
英国: changing room (試着室、ロッカールームの意もあり)
店員に "Can I try this on?" と聞くのが定番。慣用句 ―― try your luck = 運試し, try one's patience = 〜の忍耐を試す ("You're trying my patience." = もう我慢の限界), give it a try = 試してみる ("Just give it a try!")。
