買い物や商品に関する4級レベルの語彙を学びます。お店でのやり取りや値段・支払いの表現に親しみ、実際のショッピング場面でも使える英語が身につきます。
コア意味と使い方
price は「価格」で high / low（expensive ではない）。
sale は「セール」で on sale（セール中）／for sale（売り物）。
discount は get / give a discount、coupon は use a coupon、cashier は「レジ係」で at the cashier / at the register です。
使い方 —割引の言い方
「20%引き」は 20% off / a 20% discount。
「〜円引き」は 500 yen off。
「合計で」は in total、「おつり」は change です。
会計の会話はリスニングで頻出します。
つまずきやすい所
○ The price is high. / It is expensive.
✗ The price is expensive.
price には high / low。
○ on sale
✗ for sale（セール中の意味で）
for sale は「売り物」。
○ I got a 20% discount. / 20% off.
✗ I got a discount of 20 percents.
percent は複数形にしない。
price の形容詞と on sale / for sale の区別。会計語彙は定型で覚えます。
