4級レベルのコミュニケーションに関する語彙を学びます。話す・聞く・伝えるなど人とやり取りする場面の単語を、会話で自然に使えるようになります。
コア意味と使い方
speak は「（言語を）話す」（speak English）と「話しかける」（speak to 人）。
talk は「会話する」（talk with / to 人 about 〜）。
tell は「（人に）伝える」で必ず人が目的語（tell me the truth）。
ask は「たずねる・頼む」（ask 人 to V）。
answer は「答える」で他動詞（answer the question）です。
使い分け —tell と say
tell は「人」を直接目的語にとり（tell me）、say は「内容」を目的語にとります（say hello / say that 〜）。
人を言うときは say to me になります。
answer は他動詞なので to は付けません。
つまずきやすい所
○ He told me the truth.
✗ He said me the truth.
人を直接置けるのは tell。
○ He answered my question.
✗ He answered to my question.
answer は他動詞。
○ I spoke to my friend. / I talked with my friend.
✗ I spoke my friend.
speak は to が必要。
tell と say、answer の他動詞性。「話す」系は型で覚えるのが確実です。
