Not only … but also / No sooner … than / Hardly … when / Neither … nor / Both … and。相方と一致の規則です。
相方と倒置の一覧
No sooner は比較級なので相方は必ず than。
Hardly / Scarcely は when（または before）。
文頭に置くと助動詞が主語の前に出ます。
Not only を文頭に出しても倒置。
動詞の一致は Both A and B が常に複数、Either / Neither A nor B は近い方（B）に一致します。
並列は形をそろえる
相関接続詞が結ぶ A と B は同じ品詞・同じ形にそろえます（parallelism）。
not only to design but also to build のように、to 不定詞なら両方 to 不定詞に。
Not only did she break the record, but she also inspired others. のように、倒置後も but also の位置は自然な場所に置きます。
つまずきやすい所
○ No sooner had he arrived than …
✗ No sooner had he arrived when …
sooner は比較級。
○ Hardly had he arrived when …
✗ Hardly had he arrived than …
than は比較級専用。
○ Neither A nor B agrees / agree.
✗ Neither A nor B don't agree.
否定を重ねない。
相方・倒置・一致・並列の4点セット。どれか1つ外すと不自然になります。
