although / unless / as long as / provided that / in case が導く副詞節です。unless は if not なので not を重ねず、in case は「〜に備えて」の予防です。
ルール —条件を肯定で言うか否定で言うか
unless ＝ if not（〜しない限り）で否定条件、as long as / provided that は肯定条件（〜する限り）。
in case は「〜する場合に備えて」で予防、if とは重心が違います。
いずれも後ろは〈主語 ＋ 動詞〉の節です。
使い方 —時・条件の副詞節では未来を現在形で表す
If it rains tomorrow / Unless you hurry のように、時・条件の副詞節の中では未来のことでも現在形にします（× if it will rain）。
in case も同じ（in case it rains）。
unless に not を重ねないことも要注意です。
つまずきやすい所
○ unless you hurry
✗ unless you don't hurry
unless 自体が否定条件。not を重ねない。
○ if it rains tomorrow
✗ if it will rain tomorrow
時・条件の副詞節では現在形。
○ Although it rained, … / Despite the rain, …
✗ Although the rain, …
although の後ろは節。
条件を肯定・否定どちらで言うかで語を選び、節の中は現在形にします。
