存在のthere構文

There is / are で「〜がある」を表します。be動詞は後ろの名詞の数に一致し、時制も変えられます。
ルール —be動詞は後ろの名詞に一致する
There is ＋ 単数 / There are ＋ 複数。
過去は was / were、未来は will be、現在完了は has / have been。
there 自体は「そこに」と訳しません。
後ろに場所を表す語句が続くのがふつうです。
使い方 —既知のものには使わない
there 構文は「新情報の存在」を示すので、the や所有格が付いた既知のものには使いません（× There is my book on the desk. → My book is on the desk.）。
There seems to be 〜（〜があるようだ）も頻出の形です。
つまずきやすい所
○ There are two problems.
✗ There is two problems.
be動詞は後ろの名詞の数に一致。
○ My book is on the desk.
✗ There is my book on the desk.
既知のものには there 構文を使わない。
○ — Yes, there is.
✗ Is there a park? — Yes, it is.
答えでも there を使う。
数の一致と「新情報の存在」という役割。the / my が付いた既知のものには there 構文を使いません。
