祭りや習慣など文化・伝統に関する準2級レベルの語彙を整理します。日本文化を英語で説明する表現も学び、読解や英作文・面接で使える実用的な語彙力を身につけます。
コア意味と住み分け
tradition は「（世代を超えて受け継がれる）伝統」、custom は「（社会や集団の）慣習」、habit は「（個人の）習慣」で3つが区別されます。
heritage は「遺産」（cultural heritage）、ceremony は「儀式」、celebrate は「祝う」で名詞は celebration。
使い方 —celebrate は目的語を直接取る
celebrate は他動詞なので前置詞は不要（celebrate my birthday）。
「〜を祝う」の意味で congratulate は人に使います（congratulate you on your success）。
「受け継がれる」は be handed down / be passed down from generation to generation。
